DONATE LIFE NEW JERSEY DONOR REGISTRY NOW AVAILABLE ON-LINE

Donate Life New Jersey recently announced the availability of their on-line donor registry enabling all New Jersey residents with a state-issued license or ID, age 18 or older, to register their decision to be an organ and tissue donor. This decision qualifies as a legal documentation of gift that can not be revoked. This is a secure registration maintained by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC). To date, close to two million people have registered their wishes to be organ and tissue donors in New Jersey through the MVC. Please visit www.donatelifenj.org for more information and we encourage you forward this information to all your friends and family.
Thank you Nell Ryan from NJ Sharing Network

I write to qualify the above article for fear it may have unintended consequences and cause a decline in organ donations. As I read the legislation providing the organ registry I believe registering to become an organ donor through New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission is revokable by the intended donor at any time;however, the positive aspect is it would not be revocable by any other person at the time of death of the donor.
