Here is a note I received from Sam Jones III who played “Chaz Pratt” on ER. Chaz was the next of kin to Dr. Gregory Pratt, who became an organ donor in ER’s season premiere “Life After Death.” Sam presented Donate Life Hollywood’s Inspire award to Dr. Joe Sachs for writing the episode. Here is Sam’s feelings after being a part of the Donate Life Hollywood awards dinner.

Well, its 7:00AM and I should be trying to get a little more sleep before my flight back to Montreal, but I can't sleep because I'm so excited to share with others the experience I had last night at the "Donate Life" charity dinner. First, I would like to say thank you for inviting me to be part of your special evening. I worked very hard on that ER episode and it felt great to have my performance appreciated by the people who had similar true life stories as my character. However, I feel like (wow!) I was one of the big winners last night! I left that dinner inspired and educated! I'm typing this message on my blackberry and I'm not sure if anyone is ever going to see it, but I feel compelled to get these feelings out. I am grateful to have been a part of the evening and extremely moved by those who were courageous enough to share their stories of donation with us last night. I was truly touched by all the stories. Now you are all role models to me! Because of this experience I have decided to be an organ donor myself. I don't remember all of the names, but I will never forget your faces and stories! You have turned this actor into a fan! Also a fan of "Donate Life Hollywood" and of organ donation in general. This has changed my life! Because of last night, I feel more than inspired to just check "yes" on box # 7 while renewing my drivers license. I would to like to help out in some way and further involve myself in your organization. I too would like to inspire and help educate others and show them the truth about organ donation so that they too can have the opportunity to become a hero. Thanks again to everyone involved - from the people who put the event together, to the volunteers who may have been working months before the event, the writers and producers who helped bring organ donation awareness to the masses, and of course, to the true life organ donors and recipients. Last nights entertaiment dinner was one of the most fufilling moments in my life as an artist. I hope to see you all again next year! Keep on telling your stories! Educating and inspiring is the key.... and you have certainly done that for me!
Sincerely,
Tenaya Wallace
