Donate Life California has reached 5 MILLION designated donors! This announcement was made by Donate Life California's President Bryan Stewart who goes on to say that "this milestone was reached in June and came less than three years into the first five-year DMV driver's license renewal cycle; many millions more will check "YES" by the time the first cycle is completed in June 2011. California joins Florida as the only state donor registry in the nation to have reached the 5 Million number."

Woo Hooooooooooooo!!!! You guys totally ROCK!!! I'm so proud of y'all... This means so much.
They told me that I would wait a year, give or take a few months, for the lungs I needed back in 1997. All of the people in our support group said no more than nine months... I waited 2 years 7 months... That's 31 months... That's 944 days. But I wasn't counting. There were many times I didn't know whether I was going to survive. I've had my precious lungs for over nine years now. Breathing with Kari's lungs blows my mind every freakin' day.
I have friends waiting like I waited. I want them to know what I know and feel what I feel. I don't want them to die without knowing this gift. There is still a ways to go, but what all of you have done to register 5 million people will ensure that some of them have a much, much better chance. Thank you.
Love, Steve
