Life Connection of Ohio, Community Tissue Services and Lions Eyebank of West Central Ohio invite you to join them as they celebrate National Minority Donor Awareness Day (NMDAD) at an Affair on the Square, Friday July 31, 2009, from 11-2, at Montgomery County Courthouse Square in downtown Dayton. National Minority Donor Awareness Day, occurring annually on August 1, is a nationwide observance to highlight the need for organ and tissue donation and promote health and wellness in multicultural communities. It celebrates the heroes and families in our community who gave the gift of life, celebrates those who have received the gift of life and brings attention to the critical need for organ donation to save lives within multicultural communities.
The celebration will be from 11am until 2pm and will include music, food vendors, health screenings, games and fun! Everyone who registers that day as an organ and tissue donor or shows their donor designation on their driver’s license can enter to win one of two summer fun gift baskets. Screenings of the award winning ESPN Ray of Hope video will be shown every 15 minutes in the historical Old Courthouse. Enjoy your lunch or join us for refreshments as you watch the story that inspired a nation to Donate Life!
