DONATE LIFE ORGANIZATION ONELEGACY RECEIVES PROCLAMATION FROM CITY OF COMPTON RECOGNIZING AUGUST 1 AS NATIONAL MINORITY DONATE LIFE MONTH

The City of Compton, California proclaimed August 1 at National Minority Donor Awareness Day and recognizing OneLegacy for their leadership in operating the largest organ procurement organization in America and facilitating life saving transplants for thousands including Sheila and for providing support for donor families and living donors who also received individual proclamations as living examples of the life transforming value of organ, eye and tissue donation. The July 28th recognition ceremony was initiated by Councilman Jones and Special Assistant James Hays.

1. Register with your State's organ & tissue donor registry. To learn how: www.organdonor.gov
2. Speak with your family, friends and colleagues about your decision to be a donor.
3. Encourage your workplace ,church, schools, neighborhood organizations, and city to adopt donation as a mission.
4. Encourage your elected officials to support donation legislation.
5. Speak at your local High School, College or University. Ask them to participate in the National Donation Campus Challenge. www.organdonor/campus.gov
6. Participate in events sponsored by your local organ procurement organization.
