FULLERTON – Stories of empowerment, inspiration and networking were shared Dec. 10 when Councilwoman Sharon Quirk-Silva honored four local women – and Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens – at the fifth-annual "Women in Leadership" celebration.

"Every woman here makes a difference in Fullerton," Quirk-Silva told an audience of more than 100 guests, who gathered at The Meridian Club.

Jennifer Choe, who became active with Donate Life after her 5-year-old daughter died in a water accident, told guests if anyone told her she would be speaking before large audiences, she would think they were crazy.

"I've gotten a crash course in life," said Choe, who is active in her church ministry and represents Donate Life at various functions.

Other honorees were Judith Ware, President of Ware Disposal Company; Beverly Berryman a volunteer advocate for children and former Fullerton Mayor Jan Flory.
