Twenty central Ohioans are finalists in the annual Jefferson Awards for community service and volunteerism.
Five winners will be named during a luncheon Thursday at the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts in New Albany. One of them will compete in the national Jefferson Awards in Washington.
The Jefferson Awards are sponsored by WBNS-10TV Show You Care, Nationwide's On Your Side Volunteer Network and ThisWeek Newspapers.
Among the twenty 2010 finalists is:
• Marsha Burleson, 58, of Columbus, has volunteered with Lifeline of Ohio since her teenage daughter, an organ donor, died after an automobile accident in 2005. Burleson is a Donate Life ambassador, and she and her family sponsor a toy drive for needy children.
