Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette

Short, Andrew W. “Andy”
  • Print this page

He attended Preble High School in Green Bay, and was a charter member of Curry Lane Alternative School. With great pride, he graduated from the Green Bay School District.

Andy's life was turbulent, but now he's free. He had a lifelong battle with schizophrenia. Andy was a kind, considerate and compassionate young man.

He loved to dance, socialize, play soccer and help people. He had a contagious laugh and smile that could light up a room. He spent many hours outside playing b-ball or "shooting some hoops," as he would say.

Andy will be sadly missed by his mother, Barb Short, Green Bay; brothers and sisters, Jackie (2nd Lt. Jon Nguyen, USMC) Short-Nguyen, Woodford Va.; Maggie Short, Sharmae Short and her son, Christian, and Austin Short, all of Green Bay; and Amin Amin, Columbus Ohio; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.

Friends may call at Union Congregational, United Church of Christ, 716 Madison St. in Green Bay, on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral Service on Tuesday at the church, 6 p.m., with the Rev. Chuck Mize officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to thank Andy's Social Worker, Josh Harkins. Andy always knew you cared. Barb would like to thank God for choosing her to be Andy's mom. Andy was an organ donor. His donation will help make many lives better.
