Don’t Let Another Chair Go Empty

There’s a Green Chair that’s embarked on a life-saving mission during April, National Donate Life Month. It’s traveling throughout Ohio to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation.
Life Connection of Ohio, the organ procurement organization in northwest and west central Ohio, recently launched its Green Chair Campaign. Why the Green Chair? When it’s empty, the chair represents the sad situation of not having enough organs available for the more than 106,000 people on the National Transplant Waiting List. But, when someone’s in the chair, it showcases the hope of new life that comes out of a tragedy when someone donates their organs and saves lives. The people sharing their stories in the Green Chair are alive today because of these generous gifts.
Signing up for organ and tissue donation is as simple as answering “yes” to the question posed at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles when you renew your ID, or by logging on to www.donatelifeohio.organd recording that decision. Amazingly, one person has the power to save up to eight lives with organ donation and can enhance up to 50 lives through tissue donation!

And if you see the Green Chair out in the community, feel free to pull up a seat to join the conversation about organ and tissue donation!
