NATIONAL DONATE LIFE MONTH-OHIO-LIFELINE OF OHIO - DONATE LIFE MONTH 2010

Donate Life Month 2010

Donate Life Month is coming to a close and what an amazing 30 days it has been! We have traveled all over central and southeastern Ohio and into West Virginia to promote donation through events, media spots and promotions.

Best in State Frontline Award Presentation

During Donate Life Month, Lifeline of Ohio had the opportunity to recognize several Bureau of Motor Vehicle agencies in our service area as 2009 winners of the Donate Life Ohio “Organ, Tissue and Eye Donation Front Line Award.” These Deputy Registrar agencies were acknowledged for their oustanding efforts on the front line of saving and enhancing lives through organ, eye and tissue donation by registering interested customers as organ and tissue donors in the Ohio Donor Registry.

The awards are as much a commendation of the generosity and compassion of the citizens of the winning cities as it is to the outstanding commitment of the BMV that serves them! The awards were presented to the BMV employees by individuals from the area whose lives have been impacted by donation and transplantation as a token of gratitude for their role on the “front lines” of donation. Lifeline of Ohio coordinated the award on behalf of Donate Life Ohio, representing all of the organ, tissue and eye recovery agencies in the state of Ohio.

Congratulations to the following winners of the 2009 “Organ, Tissue and Eye Donation Front Line Award:”

  • “Best in the State of Ohio”- Columbus, Ohio/Hayden Rd. – 72.2% registration rate
  • “Best in District 5”- Columbus, Ohio/Kenny Rd. – 69% registration rate
  • “Most Improved in District 2”- Ironton, Ohio - improved by 6.1%
  • “Most Improved in District 3” – Waverly, Ohio – improved by 7.2%
  • “Most Improved in District 5” – Columbus, Ohio/Cleveland Ave. – improved by 8.2%
