NATIONAL DONATE LIFE MONTH-OSHKOSH, WI - LIVE 'R DIE DODGEBALL CLASSIC

More than 12 teams of University of Wisconsin Oshkosh students dodged, ducked, dipped and dove for the dot April 15 in Kolf Sports Center to support National Organ Donor Awareness Month.

UW Oshkosh public relations students hosted the Live ’R Die Dodgeball Classic to raise awareness about liver donations, as part of the 2010 National Organ Donor Awareness Campaign (NODAC), sponsored by Rowan University.

Teams competed in single-elimination games, listened to guest speakers and received informational packets with organ donation pins, bumper stickers and bracelets to educate them on the importance of organ donation. The event also featured guest appearances by “Dottie Donor Dot,” the mascot of organ donation, Oshkosh Mayor Paul Esslinger and newly crowned Miss Oshkosh, Shana Pawlowicz.

UWO Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) members participate in the competition annually and have placed nationally 10 out of 11 years, including winning first place in 2007 and 2008.
