Organ, tissue transplants offer gift of life
Do you have one gift you received that stands out in your mind? I have received all sorts of material gifts, but really appreciate the gifts that money cannot buy -- family, friends and my eternal salvation.
But I have another precious gift that I can say is on my mind all the time. It is the gift of life: a heart transplant. More than seven years ago, a family followed its son's wishes and said "yes" to organ and tissue donation. That unselfish gift allows me to live a normal lifestyle. Today there are more than 3,000 Georgians waiting to receive their life-saving gifts, too.
April is National Donate Life Month. Please help us spread the message of the importance of making your donation wish known by signing up on Georgia's Organ, Eye and Tissue Donor Registry at donatelifegeorgia.org. Talk with your family about your donation decision, and encourage them and at least five friends to register. Also, become fans of Donate Life Georgia and LifeLink of Georgia on Facebook.
