DONATE LIFE HOLLYWOOD - HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA

Vote for Alex O'Loughlin to be Donate Life Hollywood's Person of the Year!

"He inspires us all!" -- Tenaya Wallace, Campaign Director, Donate Life Hollywood

Alex O'Loughlin, who played a heart transplant surgeon in the CBS series "Three Rivers", has been nominated to be Donate Life Hollywood's Person of the Year.

Alex prepared himself intensely for the role of Dr. Andy Yablonski, a character based on real-life heart transplant surgeon Dr. Gonzo Gonzalez-Stawinski.

“When I was first handed the script I knew it would work but I wasn’t sure I was the right man for the job”, O’Loughlin admitted during an interview in Australia's Daily Telegraph. “It is one thing to play dress-ups and have a great time and shoot guns [on shows such as The Shield and Criminal Minds] but with this script I was playing a real character and it involved real stories.”

Even in real life, Alex took his role seriously: He trained to become a Donate Life Ambassador.
