TALKING MOVIES. Filmmaker Marc Smolowitz will take part in several events today to bring attention (and funding) to his new project, The Power of Two.

The documentary focuses on twin sisters Anabel Byrnes and Isabel Stenzel Byrnes, who have fought a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis and now are international advocates for organ donation, CF awareness, and related health causes. It's aiming for a 2011 release. Former Akron resident Dan Roth is development and outreach coordinator for the film.

Smolowitz, who was a producer on the Oscar-nominated Weather Underground, will talk about his work at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Akron Art Museum. Admission is free.

Roth and Smolowitz will show portions of the movie at a fundraiser in the Uncorked Wine Bar on High Street from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Donations will help pay for the remaining stages of filming as well as post-production.
