4TH ANNUAL DONATE LIFE & HEALTH EXPO CAR SHOW

LAS CRUCES - Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. June is shaping up as a great month for those who love great rides and good causes, with three benefits this weekend and another coming up soon.

The 4th Annual Donate Life and Health Expo Car Show offers opportunities for automotive aficionados to show off their own treasures or see what the region has to offer in several automotive categories, including classic, domestic, imports, sports, hot rod, lowrider, radical lowrider, JDM (Japanese Domestic Market), racing and other categories of cars, trucks, motorcycles and bicycles. The show runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Young Park, 1905 E. Nevada Ave.

Proceeds will be used to fund the nonprofit group's current programs to support organ donors and organ donation efforts, said Susan Brown of Las Cruces, who received a kidney transplant in 2005.

"It's my fifth year and I'm doing fine," said Brown.

"We will feature health providers, the police Indenti-child van, guest speaks, entertainment with a DJ, and food, including barbecue, Hatch green chile cheeseburgers, hot dogs and soda," Brown said.

Show admission is free. For those who wish to register their rides, it's $20 in advance and $25 on Saturday. For information or to preregister, call (575) 496-2627.
