St. Mary's to raise flag in honor of organ donors Friday

SAGINAW — St. Mary's of Michigan on Friday will honor organ donors and their families with a flag raising ceremony at 1 p.m.

The 3rd annual Donate Life flag raising ceremony will take place outside St. Mary's chapel, 800 S. Washington, before proceeding outside to raise the flag to honor the memory of the St. Mary's patients who gave life to others through their organ and tissue donations.

Fifteen donors will be represented by 35 family members during the ceremony.

The flag raising ceremony is a combined effort of Gift of Life Michigan, Michigan Eye-Bank and St. Mary's of Michigan to honor donors and encourage others to sign up for the Michigan organ donor registry
