Our team has returned from D.C. safe and sound with tremendous successes and new friends to tell of. Our interviews with the foremost experts in the field of Cystic Fibrosis, organ transplant, and minority health issues proved that the work of THE POWER OF TWO resonates with many levels of policy makers, scientists and doctors. The trip was also special for Ana & Isa as they visited national landmarks and cultural havens, while they also experienced powerful interactions with other organ recipients. INTERVIEWS WITH DR. HOWARD KOH & SECRETARY GARY LOCKE
We achieved audience with the two most prominent Asian Americans in government to discuss APIA public health!
Dr. Howard Koh
: Assistant Secretary for Health at U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. During his previous position as Commissioner of Public Health for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1997–2003, Koh led an effective campaign for organ donation registration among Asian Pacific Islander American communities- a matter close to his heart. He left us saying our time together was “the best 30 minutes I’ve had all day.”
