Walk Like a Zombie at San Diego Comic-Con!
Get yer zombie on at San Diego Comic-Con. The dead are DEFINITELY walking again and they are heading to San Diego this week! In addition to all of the cool stuff AMC has planned for their new series The Walking Dead at Comic-Con organizers of the 4th annual Comic-Con Zombie Walk have just sent over all the details you'll need to know to walk with the zombies in San Diego. The 4th Annual Comic-Con Zombiewalk is being held on Saturday, July 24th at 6:00PM on the corner of 4th & Broadway in downtown San Diego. AMC's The Walking Dead will be handing out swag to zombies in attendance, as will several other groups (the current list of sponsors of the walk & after party is located here).
The walk itself is a free all-ages event. Organizers do ask that everyone familiarize themselves with the walk safety guidelines here .
Following the walk, head on over to the after party at Quality Social (789 Sixth Avenue, San Diego 92101) 'Happy Hour of the Undead' from 7:00PM until 9:00PM. The event is 21+ and has no cover charge. A portion of the bar sales will be donated to Donate Life California, California's organ donor registry.
At the after party, there will be a costume contest, judged by Chris Gore. Categories include "Furthest Decayed", "Best Celebrity", "Most Creative", and "Zombie of the Year". Each winner will receive a prize pack of goodies from Zombie Walk sponsors and Zombie of the Year will also win an iPod (courtesy of zombiepodcast.com). There will also be a Zombie Shuffle (dance) Contest and a Trivia For Brains contest for prizes including ThinkGeek gift certificates, a free night at The Sofia Hotel, and lots of zombie related books, toys and more!
