Coral Springs’ Morton wins third gold medal in U.S. Transplant Games

Jill Morton of Coral Springs made it three gold medals in her first three days of competition at the National Kidney Foundation U.S. Transplant Games.
Morton, 50, the recipient of a kidney transplant in 2003, added the gold medal in tennis Monday after winning her age group in the 5K run and in the 20K cycling events. Morton, a CPA and active in a variety of sports including tennis, golf and running, is competing in her third U.S. Transplant Games. She has earned gold in tennis in all three Games.
More than 1,500 athletes are competing in the 2010 Games, which conclude Tuesday. Morton also picked up a bronze medal as a member of Team Florida in the 5K run.
