INTERNATIONAL ORGAN DONATION AWARENESS - AUSTRALIA

Journey Online Blog
Share your thoughts, passions and dreams for the Uniting Church in Queensland

DonateLife

In 2008, 812 people donated their kidneys. In 2009 1, 298 people are on the waiting list for a donated kidney. That’s 486 people whose wishes and prayers were never answered..
Strangely enough, 90% of Australians are pro organ donations. Yet, we still don’t enough donors and ultimately many lives are lost.
Along with many other Christian denominations, the Uniting Church encourage and support organ donation as an act of charity.
Christmas is a time of giving, loving and sharing. This Christmas, DonateLife asks that you discuss your views on organ donation, because ultimately it is your family’s decision.
