From the Donate Life Ohio Team.

Donate Life Education Vehicle Makes a Tour Stop at Hocks Medical Supply Life Connection of Ohio,
Community Tissue Services, and Lions Eye Bank of West Central Ohio have teamed up to create the Donate Life Education Vehicle. This unique mobile learning experience provides broad community outreach of organ, eye and tissue donation information throughout the Greater Miami Valley. The Donate Life Education Vehicle offers an interactive educational experience and will travel to special events, health fairs, workplaces, college campuses and other events to make it easy for people to learn about organ, eye and tissue donation by going to where the audience is - their own community. The Donate Life Education Vehicle will make a stop at Hocks Medical Supply, 732 West National Road, Wednesday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mary Laughter, internet sales director and purchasing manager for Hocks Pharmacy and Medical Supply contacted Life Connection of Ohio to schedule a tour stop. Following the death of sister-in-law Becky who was an organ donor, three individuals received a second chance at life."Even though we suffered such a tragic loss, three other families are able to remain together thanks to Becky's gifts," said Laughter. "It gives us comfort knowing she lives on in others. I just had to do my part to get this important information out to my community in hopes that others will make the decision to register as a donor like Becky."The need for donated organs, corneas and tissue continues to grow. Over 3,000 Ohioans are currently waiting for a life-saving organ transplant while more than one million life enhancing tissue transplants are performed each year offering people a new chance at healthy and productive lives. One person can save eight lives and enhance the lives of more than fifty others through organ, eye and tissue donation.
