The City of Long Beach second district council member Suja Lowenthal recognized citizens in her district who embodied the diversity, goodwill and optimism of Long Beach. Among one of the recipients Glenn Matsuki, Donate Life Ambassador, creator of the Donate Life Organ & Tissue Donation Blog and 15 year heart transplant recipient received the "2010 Stewards of the Second District" award. Suja Lowenthal created the "Stewards of the Second District" to honor and recognize those who have gone beyond the call of duty to make a difference in the lives of others. She felt that it was important to share their contributions with all Long Beach residents as a mean of inspiring others to become involved.
