DONATE LIFE ORGAN DONATION AWARENESS - COLORADO

AlloSource Recognized for Continuous Performance Improvement

Company receives Foothills Award from 2010 Colorado Performance Excellence Organization

CENTENNIAL, Colo., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- AlloSource, one of the nation's largest non-profit providers of skin, bone and soft tissue allografts for use in surgical procedures and the world's largest processor of live cellular bone growth substitutes, today announced its receipt of the Foothills Award from Colorado Performance Excellence (CPEx), a statewide non-profit that helps organizations improve performance and achieve results.
CPEx, now in its ninth year, is dedicated to enabling Colorado organizations to evolve and succeed through the effective application of the principles and practices embodied in the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. The Foothills application included questions that evaluated AlloSource's approach to processes and systems. The award is then presented to those applicants that have been judged to demonstrate systemic approaches to the criteria questions.
Last year, AlloSource received the High Plains Recognition, which honors organizations for self assessment and beginning the performance excellence journey.
"Our mission is to honor the gift of donation, and responsibly develop, process and distribute life-saving and life-enhancing, human tissue. We take this responsibility very seriously, which is why we are constantly focused on self improvement and providing only the highest level of quality to our medical partners and the brave donor families who make our work possible," said Thomas Cycyota, AlloSource President and CEO. "We are proud to have achieved the Foothills Performance Award, and look forward to achieving further awareness and improvements through pursuing the next two levels of CPEx."
CPEx is a Colorado 501c3 non-profit organization based upon the Malcolm Baldrige National Program for Performance Excellence. Forty five states have similar programs. More information about CPEx is available at: http://www.coloradoexcellence.org/.
