October 04, 2010
Seoul, Korea – Acrtess Kim Sarang has stepped forward as a spokesperson for the Share a Life Organ Donation Campaign in order to increase awareness of and participation in organ donation.
Participates in the Share a Life Organ Donation Campaign…has a photo shoot with 10 representatives of various fields
This public-service campaign is run by the National Assembly’s National Health and Welfare Policy Forum and the Institute of Transplantation and is sponsored by Novartis Korea.
Kim Sarang has stepped up to speak out for organ donation during the photo shoot for the campaign.
The photo shoot features, along with Kim Sarang, assemblywoman Jeong Hyun Hee, Institute of Transplantation chief Cho Won Hyun, Novartis Korea president Peter Jagger, mountain climber Captain Park Young Seok, photographer Oh Jung Seok, designer Choi Bum Seok, film director Lee Jeong Bom, actor Yoon Son Ha, and magician Noh Byung Wook.
This campaign will take place for four weeks from the 4th until the 29th, starting with ten messages for the campaign, with each message telling about organ donation to two people each week, and asking for their signatures to actively participate, in a strictly relay fashion.
The progress of this campaign caen be seen on the official website <www.treeoflife.or.kr> and the campaign’s Twitter account <www.twitter.com/TOLcampaign>.
Kim Sarang expressed her feelings, saying, “Through this campaign, I found out that thanks to one organ donor, up to nine people on the transplant list can be saved. I am very happy to be a spokesperson for this warm, generous act of organ donation. I hope that many people will share happiness through organ donation.”
Meanwhile, Kim Sarang is scheduled to star in SBS’s Secret Garden, set to air as the successor to Life Is Beautiful, marking her return to TV after two years.
