Source: WTAJ CBS

Every day , 17 Americans die while waiting for an organ transplant.  Have you thought about becoming an organ donor, but are hesitating  because you have some questions about the issue?

The Reverend Paul Johnson of Altoona doesn't have any doubts about the benefits of organ donation.  He's alive today because of two kidney transplants, one from his niece, a living donor.
He said,  "it's a life giving gift.  It's the greatest gift.  I'm a beneficiary and it's meant everything to me."

That's why he's taking part in a Celebration of Life on Thursday November 4th in Altoona.    CORE'S  Central Pennsylvania Task Force is hosting the celebration at the Altoona Discovery Center, 1421 12th Avenue, from 6 to 8 p.m.  In part, the event is a question and answer session for the public about organ donation.

If you plan to attend, you can RSVP, by calling 1-800-366-6777, extension 200, or emailmdandries@core.org.  For more information on organ donation, contact CORE.
