Hero campaign launched, Perth, Australia

PUBLIC relations students from Cockburn, Fremantle and Melville are campaigning to increase awareness of organ donation.
The Central Institute of Technology students are encouraging people to find out the facts about organ donation, decide whether they want to become a donor, and discuss the decision with their family.
Cockburn resident Jayde du Cladier said in order for a donor’s wishes to be respected and acted upon, their next of kin needed to know.
“A lot of people are unaware that consent from your family is always sought even if you are a registered donor,” she said.
Fremantle resident Alana Cipriani said the group would be conducting a “Hero Campaign” at the Perth Campus from November 15 to 26.
