"National Donor Sabbath" Brings Awareness to Organ Donation
IOWA CITY, Iowa - Volunteers signed up new organ donors Thursday at University of Iowa Hospitals and clinics.
Organizers say signing up for the Iowa Donor Registry gives donors more options.
"On the registry you can actually indicate which organs or tissues you'd like to donate so if you don't want to donate everything, you can actually pick and choose what you'd like to donate, as well as give the opportunity to donate for research as well,” said Rachel Asbury, as UIHC social worker.
This weekend marks the "National Donor Sabbath" celebrating organ donations.
