WELL SAID FROM OUR FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES AT LIFELINE OF OHIO

Thankful for Everyday Heroes

Lifeline of Ohio is giving thanks for everyday heroes. Thanksgiving is the perfect opportunity to express our gratitude for those who have said “yes” to organ and tissue donation to let life continue.
Last year, more than 2,000 Ohioans gave the “Gift of Life” at the time of death, resulting in thousands of life-saving transplants. These recipients will be able to celebrate another Thanksgiving and enjoy time with loved ones because of their donors.
Many more have committed to donate upon their death. In fact, 4,967,577 Ohioans have registered as organ and tissue donors! They are all heroes as they have the potential to save eight lives through organ donation and heal 50 more through tissue donation after death.
While the generosity of Ohioans is strong, there continues to be a need. More than 109,000 men, women and children are waiting for an organ right now and, sadly, 18 will die every day because a transplant doesn’t come in time.
We would like to thank each and every person who has registered as an organ and tissue donor. You give hope to all who still wait for a second chance at life.
We encourage you to be a hero too, by adding your name to the Ohio Donor Registry. You can sign up by visitingwww.lifelineofohio.org, calling 800-525-5667, or visiting your local BMV.
