Professionals from LifePoint and from area hospitals were also there to celebrate the honor of providing life to one in need.
LifePoint helps support and educate families at an emotionally devastating time so they can make well-informed decisions about organ and tissue donation.
"They hold on to it as a gift of life, when the families are in the waiting room and our family support counselors come in to talk to them and offer the option of donation it is the gift of life,” said Reuben Wright a donor family counselor with LifePoint Donor,” It’s the gift of hope and they're hoping through the giving to save somebody else’s life.”
A similar gathering will be a statewide ceremony in April which is national tissue and organ donor awareness month.
