ORGAN DONOR: An Iowan who was given a second chance at life is doing the same for others in death

Jane Jorgenson lost her husband Tom in 2005. As a registered organ donor, Tom's organs went to improve the lives of others. This year, his contributions will be featured on the Donate Life float as part of the annual New Year's Eve Tournament of Roses Parade.

His wife Jane says, "He would love it. It would be an opportunity to tell his story and encourage others and he had lots and lots of people respond that hearing him talk is what made a difference and made them consider donation."

More than 100,000 Americans are waiting for an organ transplant. Six-hundred of them live in Iowa.
