Altoona Teenager Wanted You To Watch This Video

video

ALTOONA, Iowa -- In 2008, Bryce Draisey admitted to KCCI he liked to goof around a lot.
But the Altoona teenager also had a serious side.

Before Bryce died last May, his parents promised him they'd convince more than 10,000 people to watch his story on the importance of organ donations. The video, which just passed its goal, is posted here and on YouTube.

At age 12, Bryce received a heart transplant at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. KCCI viewers met the mischievous boy in April 2008 as he waited five months in the hospital for the transplant, keeping nurses on their toes.

Six months later, Bryce returned to school at Southeast Polk Junior High. That follow up can be seen at

Bryce's body rejected that first new organ and he needed a second heart transplant. Bryce died May 3 at the Iowa City hospital.

Recently, Bryce's father emailed KCCI saying, "Bryce passed away in May of this year. I made a promise to him that he would get 10,000 hits on his organ donation YouTube video. He is almost there, so I am forwarding the site to you. I was just hoping you wouldn’t mind to pass this along to anyone you know. It is extremely important to Michelle and me. We would truly appreciate any help you could give."
