Son's donation makes Urbandale parents proud
Source: Des Moines Register

Urbandale, Ia. — Steven Lollman proudly showed his parents he had registered as an organ donor a couple of years ago when he got his driver's license.

Dave and Denise Lollman didn't discuss organ donation again until their son Steven was in an accident involving the vehicle in which he was a passenger.

Lollman, an Urbandale High School senior, was returning from morning classes at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny on Nov. 18 with fellow senior Nicholas Donahoe.
Donahoe, 18, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle, which rolled several times. Lossman, 17, died three days later.

His family chose to donate his organs.

This month the Lollmans received a letter from the Iowa Donor Network that included details about the people whose lives were changed because of their son's final request.

"Knowing we were able to help do the one last thing he wanted to do - we're just proud of him," Denise Lollman said. "He was an amazing kid."
