Source: Wisconsin State Journal

St. Mary's Hospital and University of Wisconsin Hospital are among 307 hospitals nationally to receive a National Medal of Honor from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for their work to improve organ donation rates, the hospitals announced Wednesday.

To qualify, at least 75 percent of patients eligible to be organ donors must become donors.

Meriter Hospital, which has won the award before, didn't have enough eligible donors during the latest time period to qualify.
