Local group of volunteers encourages organ donation
Del Rioan John McDowell is president of the Del Rio Organ Sharing Awareness, a local group of volunteers who work with the Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (TOSA), a federally designed organ procurement organization. McDowell, who received a heart transplant in 2002, is just one of hundreds of organ transplant recipients who recognize the importance of transplants.
McDowell said this is the third year for a local walk/run event which will be held Saturday, April 16, at the Buena Vista Park Pavilion on Fox Drive.
