State Sen. Joan Huffman Recognized For Organ Donation Efforts

By: InstantNewsWestu Staff

State Sen. Joan Huffman was recently recognized by Sam Holtzman, president and CEO of LifeGift, for her efforts in saving and enhancing lives through organ and tissue donation.

Donate Life Texas recently recognized State Sen. Joan Huffman (R-Southside Place) for her efforts in saving and enhancing lives through organ and tissue donation.

LifeGift, one of the three organ procurement organizations in the state that recovers organs and tissues for Texans in need of transplants in 109 counties, recognized Huffman with an “Award of Appreciation.”

Huffman was involved in leading legislation that increased awareness of organ donation and streamlined the process for Texas residents to become registered donors.

“Joan has demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment to saving lives through organ donation. LifeGift thanks her for everything she has done and will continue to do from a legislative standpoint to further our cause,” said Sam Holtzman, president and CEO of LifeGift. “The support of our government leaders is critical to our mission of helping the more than 10,000 Texans in need of lifesaving transplants.”
