'30 Rock' Star Visits Valley for Kidney Walk
Valley resident gave star his kidney

More than 1,000 people head to Chase Field Saturday to take part in a star-studded charity walk.

Proceeds for the 5k walk benefit the prevention of kidney disease and education about organ donation.

Dialysis patients, donor families, and organ recipients all attended, including actor Grizz Chapman from the TV show "30 Rock."

Chapman received a kidney from someone he had never met before -- 22-year-old Ryan Perkins from right here in the valley.

“What Ryan did definitely brings a better light on the world without question. What we are going through as a planet and for one person to make a difference like that is amazing. It lets you know it is a different world out there than what you see on TV,” Chapman said.

The National Kidney Foundation of Arizona urges people to get tested to see if they are a match for those on a list waiting for healthy kidneys.
