City of Phoenix Brown Bag Lunch on the Ripple Effect of Organ Donation—April 15

Representatives from the Donor Network of Arizona will discuss what organs can be donated and the donation process at the free Faces of Diversity Brown Bag series at noon Friday, April 15, at the Phoenix City Council Chambers, 200 W. Jefferson St.

April is Organ Donation Awareness Month. Susan Pace Jones, director of donor program development, and Lisa Kula, professional education coordinator, from the Donor Network of Arizona, will share how easy it is to become a registered donor and save a life.

More than 110,000 people in the United States are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant; more than 2,100 of them live in Arizona. There is a one-in-five chance that organ donation will touch the life of someone you know and there is no telling how far your ripple will travel.

The free event is co-sponsored by the Phoenix Human Relations Commission and the city’s Equal Opportunity Department. It features dynamic people telling their stories about diversity. Bring your lunch and enjoy a cultural experience. No reservation is needed. For more information, call 602-495-0358 or 602-534-1557/TTY or visit
