Kidney donors, children recipients celebrate Easter with egg hunt
FOX 13 News

The Kidney Foundation of Utah Idaho held a special Easter egg celebration Friday involving families who donated organs with children organ donor recipients.

At Liberty Square about 200 people came together to enjoy an Easter celebration and to say thank you. All the children there are recipients of donor families.

“We’re here to celebrate the wonderful donors who have given a pancreas, a kidney, a heart, a lung to save the life of someone else,” said Deen Vetterli of the National Kidney Foundation.

A social gathering like this also helps bring families together who have gone through similar and unique experiences.

“We love to come to the events. It's fun to be around other people who have the same problems and understandings we do,” said Tammy Gale who is a mother of a donor recipient.
