Who Are We?
http://teamalabama.wordpress.com/about-us/joseph-and-his-medals/
As part of the National Kidney Foundation of Alabama, Team Alabama 2010 is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization. Our team members include organ recipients, donor families, living donors, health care professionals, and their families and friends. We are heavily involved in fund raising activities to defray the costs associated with sending athletes to The U.S. Transplant Games. “The Games” are held under the auspices of The National Kidney Foundation.

What Makes Us A “Team”?

The ultimate purpose of The Games — and all of the fund raising events leading up to them — is to raise awareness of the urgent need for organ donors, to call attention to the success of organ and tissue transplantation, and to celebrate life among recipients, their families and their friends. http://teamalabama.wordpress.com/about-us/medal-award-ceremony/

The U.S. Transplant Games is a four-day athletic competition among recipients of organ transplants. Competition in The Games is open to anyone who has received a lifesaving solid organ transplant — heart, liver, kidney, lung, and pancreas. Heterologous bone marrow recipients are also eligible to participate.
