Kicking Off Our New Donate Life Delaware Campaign: 1 = 50
Source: Gift of Life Donor Program

We’re happy to announce a brand new look for our Donate Life Delaware campaign: 1= 50. This theme is based on the fact that 1 organ and tissue donor can impact the lives of 50 people – saving and enhancing lives. The faces that make up the campaign are recipients, donors, donor families and supporters of the cause. As many of you know, Gift of Life Donor Program serves in addition to Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey — the entire state of Delaware. We worked with Aloysius Butler & Clark, a communications agency in Wilimington, Delaware to create an interactive way to spread awareness in the state.

In addition to the brand new look on the Donate Life Delaware website we have launched a Donate Life Delaware Facebook page for supporters to find the latest information, stories, and events — so go ahead and like the page to stay in touch with this initiative.

We have a goal of registering 250 new organ and tissue donors in the state by July 30, 2011.
The need is great – Today, there are more than 430 Delawareans and more than 110,000 people in the United States waiting for lifesaving organ and tissue transplants, and every 12 minutes another name is added to that list. However, only 35 percent of licensed drivers and ID card holders have committed themselves to donation by registering to be donors through their state registry or motor vehicle department making the donor shortage a leading public health crisis.

If you’re a Delaware resident, you can help! Visit the Donate Life Delaware Facebook page for ways you can get involved and spread the word to your family, friends and neighbors!
