Record Registration Rates

We are excited to share that in the past two months, central and southeastern Ohioans have registered as organ and tissue donors in record numbers!

During the month of March, 57.5 percent of licensed drivers and state I.D. holders in Lifeline of Ohio’s service area said “yes” to organ and tissue donation, setting the bar higher than ever before. Just one month later, we learned that an even larger percentage had registered, reaching 57.6 percent in April.

We would like to thank everyone who has made the commitment to give life after death.

A few years ago, the thought of reaching a 57 percent donor registration rate in our service area seemed like a daunting task. Now, thanks to the generosity of the communities we serve, we’ve passed that mark and hope to continue to make strides in the Ohio Donor Registry.

Our goal is to bridge the gap between sentiment and action. While we are thrilled to report that 57.6 percent of central and southeastern Ohioans registered as donors last month, we know that 90 percent of Ohioans believe donation is a good thing. We still have work to do!

Lifeline of Ohio will continue on our mission to save and heal lives and we would appreciate your help along the way!

You can start by saying “yes” to organ and tissue donation. If you’re already a registered donor, please let us know of opportunities for us to connect with schools, corporate partners, media opportunities or places for our Honey Bee mascot to visit. These education and outreach opportunities make a difference in growing the Ohio Donor Registry and giving hope to the 3,400 Ohioans waiting on a life-saving transplant.
