Hiker Philippides Promotes Organ & Tissue Donation by Walking through 42 Prefectures

The well-known hiker John Philippides arrived at the City Hall of Ioannina. John Philippides launched his trip on May 5th from Orestiada, Evros and his aim is to walk through 42 prefectures of the country, promoting the message of organ and tissue donation, blood donations and the protection of environment.

Mr. Philippides noted that, ”his goal is to sensitize society, sending messages of humanity and love, which are of great significance in the difficult times we are going through.”

He has traveled 1,900 kilometers, while 5,200 kms is the total distance of journey that he intends to walk. His last stop is in Sitia, Crete. At the City Hall of Ioannina, he was welcomed by the Chairman of the Municipal Council Dimitris Giotitsas, who wished him strength and courage to complete the task undertaken.
