Source: Shenzhen Post

A 15-month-old young girl who lived in Gongming Street in Bao’an district in Shenzhen, identified as Lanlan, had fell into a stupor for 14 days due to the expiratory dyspnea and lack of oxygen to the brain that were caused by esophagus scald. Due to the serious condition, the girl had slim hope to be cured. Yesterday afternoon, Lanlan’s parents made a decision that they would donate the body of their girl to the Red Cross Society if she died at last.

Yesterday afternoon, officer of the organ donation office of Shenzhen Red Cross Society came to Gongming People’s Hospital, under whose guidance Lanlan’s parents filled the table of organ donation and gave their prints in the office of intensive care unit. During the whole process, Mr. Pei, Lanlan’s father, held the pen tightly and kept silent.

Lanlan’s aunty said, the parents had made the decision when knowing that there was slim hope that Lanlan could not be cured under the current medical condition. The mother said it’s the words “Let life be continued” on the wall of the ICU making them make the decision to donate the body.

In the ICU, Lanlan laid in the bed with her little body full of tubes. It’s said Lanlan was in coma when sent to the hospital. under the double pressure of economic difficulty and lost of daughter, the parents still made the decision with their families to donate Lanlan’s body, so that more life could be continued for the reason of Lanlan.
