TUCSON, Ariz. -- A special ceremony Sunday honored organ donors and the gift of life they gave to others.
University Medical Center held a "Donor Family Ceremony." It helps the families of organ donors get through their grief. Julie Firos who's brother donated his kidneys and bones in 2009 spoke about the importance of giving.

"You can turn your personal tragedy into someone else's triumph. We don't realize it's not just the organs, but corneas, skin grafs if someone is burned, bone, it goes so much further than just the organs," said Firos.
More than 2100 people in arizona are waiting for a life saving transplant. So far this year, UMC has had three organ donors.
