TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) -- A local woman gave a vital organ to a stranger she met at a bowling alley this weekend. Kelly Tucker of Temperance found out that Dave Shinevarre, a total stranger needed a kidney.

The wife and mother got tested and found out she was a match. Kelly and Dave contacted the Alliance for Paired Donation. The organization helps people who need a transplant through a "pay it forward" approach. It matches one incompatible donor/recipient pair to another pair in the same situation, and the two pairs swap kidneys.

Kelly and Dave tried to join the kidney donor chain...but it fell through. on Friday the two met at the university of Toledo medical center. a transplant was performed with success. now 2 people who started off as strangers will share a connection forever.

Dave says "Ive got a piece of her in me. I can't thank her enough for what she has done for me and my family."

Kelly says Dave doesn't owe her anything but she hopes he will pay the act of kindness forward.
