Assemblyman Jim Conte recently attended the rededication of the Eisenhower Park Rose Garden as part of the Long Island Transplant Recipients International Organization’s (LITRIO) annual ceremony to recognize and honor organ donors and their families.
Assemblyman Conte, a two-time kidney-transplant recipient and LITRIO member, noted that LITRIO maintains the Rose Garden as part of its participation in Nassau County’s Adopt a Park Program and in recognition and celebration of life-giving organ donation.
LITRIO is the local chapter of the Transplant Recipients International Organization, which is an independent, not-for-profit international organization committed to advocacy for candidates, recipients, their families and the families of organ and tissue donors.
To learn more about LITRIO and for information on organ and tissue donations, Assemblyman Conte is encouraging residents to contact the organization at 516-942-4940or visit their website at www.litrio.org.
