MUSTANG, Okla. -- Before his death this week, Nichols Hills Fire Chief Keith Bryan indicated if anything ever happened to him, he wanted his liver to go to a friend in need of a transplant. That wish has now been fulfilled.
Oklahoma City fire chaplain Ted Wilson underwent surgery at a local hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
Some hope the story can inspire more people to register to donate.
"The situation with Chief Bryan is tragic certainly, but also uplifting in a lot of ways. He wanted to give a liver to his friend," said LifeShare's Phil Van Stavern said.
