North Dakota ranks fifth for percentage of licensed organ donors

KXMBTV Bismark
More than 100-million people nationwide are now registered as organ and tissue donors.

335-thousand North Dakotans have made the commitment to donate. This accounts for 67-percent of all licensed drivers in the state.

Nationwide North Dakota ranks 5th for its percentage of licensed donors - which is why the DOT is being honored today.

Across the US, 42% of all licensed drivers are registered as donors.

(Kathy Selden/LifeSource)"Donotion doesn't only help the person receiving the gift whether it is an organ, tissue, or eyes. Donor Families are so proud of being able to offer the gift of life to someone else."
