JOPLIN, MO. --100 million people in the U.S. are now registered as organ and tissue donors.
However local health officials like Kristina Cline say that's not enough.
2 thousand 283 people are still waiting for lifesaving organ transplants, and that's just in the states of Missouri and Kansas.
"We see patients here every day in need of life-saving organ tissue or eye donation," Cline says.
Cline says it's critical to increase the number of registered donors, because so many are just waiting for an organ.
"It's a hopeless feeling for the families, patients and staff," Cline says.
