Events emphasizes organ donation

In observance of National Donor Sabbath, Carolina Donor Services hosted a Donor Sabbath reception Sunday at the Edwin W. Monroe AHEC Conference Center.

Donors, donor families and recipients were honored as the importance of becoming an organ donor was presented. Tunisia Bullock, adjunct flute professor at Methodist University who is on the transplant waiting list, performed during the reception.

Donor Sabbath is celebrated annually on the second weekend of November as a national event to emphasize and recognize organ donation in the interfaith community.
